Dr. Antal was a Judge of the Constitutional Court from November 1989 to November 1998.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Pécs in 1953. He was appointed full professor to the Constitutional Law Department of the same Faculty in 1967. He was Dean of the Faculty between 1975 and 1978. He received a candidate’s degree in Law in 1958. His main subjects of research are the Constitution and constitutionalism, organs of the central government, human rights and social organisations. He has been a member of the Executive Council of the International Constitutional Law Association since 1991.
