Twenty years of the Constitutional Court

The Hungarian Parliament elected the first five judges of Constitutional Court on 23 November 1989. This was the day the Court chose to commemorate the first twenty years of its operation.

More than twenty foreign representatives of Constitutional courts arrived to Budapest on this occasion. Furthermore, university professors were also invited to the celebration which took place in the Hungarian Accademy of Sciences, with the support of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.
