Ottó CZÚCZ

Dr. Czúcz was a Judge to the Constitutional Court from December 1998 to May 2004.

Having graduated from the Faculty of Law of József Attila University of Szeged (JATE) in 1971, he started his career at the Legal Department of the Ministry of Labour. In 1974 he returned to Szeged and has been teaching there at the Faculty of Law ever since. As a research fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Sozialrecht, between 1984 and 1985 he spent a year in Munich. Also in the framework of a fellowship, granted by the Confederation of Switzerland, he gave lectures and carried out research work at the University of Geneva in 1991 and 1992. He received his candidate’s degree in 1985 and qualified as a university lecturer in 1995. In 1993 he set up, and has been directing ever since, the Research Group of Social Law at the Faculty of Law of JATE. He was granted full professorship in 1995 and in the same year was appointed Head of the Department of Labour and Social Law. Between 1989 and 1991 he served as Dean of the Faculty of Law of JATE, while between 1992 and 1997 as Vice Rector of the University. His main fields of research are issues of regulation of different institutions of Labour and Social Law.
