Attila HORVÁTH

The Hungarian Parliament elected him Judge of the Constitutional Court in 22 November 2016, with the effect from 1 December.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University in 1986, and from the Faculty of Humanities in 1987. Since 1986, he has been teaching at the Department of Legal History at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University. He participated in the foundation of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Pázmány Péter Catholic University. Since 1 July 2013, he is the Head of the Institute of Constitutional and Legal History at the National University of Public Service. He was awarded – with summa cum laude – PhD degree in 2003, and habilitation in 2010. Since February 2017 he is university professor.
He was awarded by the President of Hungary with the Gold Honorary Cross of the Hungarian Republic on 15 March 2011. In 2013, he received the title of honorary citizen of the 16th District of Budapest.
