András PATYI

Member of the Constitutional Court since 2 September 2023.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Szeged in 1993. He started his legal career in the Constitutional Court’s Office, where he worked as a consultant. From 1996, he was Head of Department in the Office of Parliamentary Commissioners, and between 1997 and 2006 he was the municipality notary of the Mayor’s Office of Hegyvidék Municipality in the XII. district of Budapest. From 2006 to 2009 he was Senior Advisor to the Constitutional Court. He obtained his academic degree in 2002 from the University of Pécs with a doctoral dissertation on the fundamental issues of administrative judiciary. From 1 August 2009 he was a judge assigned in the Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court. From 1 January 2013 to 31 August 2018 he was Rector of the National University of Public Service. From 2013, he was a member and President of the National Election Commission. Judge at the Curia and from 2018 and Deputy President from 1 April 2021.
His main research interests are administrative judiciary, defence constitution and general fundamental problems of administrative law.
